Ashley Toman is a full time professional freelance harpist in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Northshore, and Lafayette areas, but her career as a harpist has taken her all throughout the United States and Europe. She holds a Bachelor's and Master of Music degrees from the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York. She has also performed with the Louisiana Philharmonic and the Baton Rouge Symphony.
Ashley is a fan of all types of musc and plays everything from Bach to the Beatles. Her Metallica Tribute Harp Duo "Harptallica" has been featured on the WGN Chicago Network as well as Fox News, and has toured throughout the United States and Europe.
Ashley started playing the harp as well as her study in music at the age of 15 in Traverse City Michigan. Hard work, a lot of practice, and discipline got her into the Eastman School of Music two and a half years later where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in harp performance.
For five summers she was the harpist in residence at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island Michigan where she performed daily three hours a day. It is there where she gained priceless experience playing weddings every week and where she built up her gigantic repertoire of music that spands over eight hours. She also performs at the Capitol Center Hilton in Baton Rouge, occasionally at the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans, and the National World War II Museum in New Orleans.
Even though she tours, teaches, and plays with the symphony, her favorite jobs to play on the harp are her freelance jobs of weddings, parties, dinners, teas, and receptions. Feel free to call or email her for a price quote and updated song lists. Her website is:
